Mines Rescue Mines Rescue
Mines Rescue Service played an important part in the saving of lives in the mine. Many volunteers spent their leisure time in training for this invaluable service as well as First Aid and Ambulance teams. The latter was highly competitive and many trophies exist to this end.

I came across this headstone by chance when I visited Kinglassie cemetery a few years ago. It was the first one I had seen. Since then, Dave Johnstone has found another, and will appear here soon
